Wow. Bit of a baptism of fire there for Round 1. Not sure I’ve ever raced on such a slippery surface! There was actually a lot of grip at the start of the race but as the rain started falling it turned into a ice rink with drivers flying off on almost every corner.

Interestingly even at its quickest, the track was still some way off a fastest lap set by Stuart McLean last year in the dry of 46.496 (either that or their new karts aren’t as fast!)

Apologies to Andy Otoo for your kart breaking. I’m sure you will claw your way back up the table as the year progresses.

Race 2 wasn’t an awful lot easier than Race 1 with a brief hail storm half way through and a super slippy turn 6 catching people out regularly. The visitors ran away with it again but there looks to have been a nice close battle for 3rd – 5th with Jolyon and Adam finishing nose to tail! Great drive there guys despite the tricky conditions.

Race Format

This event will count as rounds 1 and 2 for the 2016 season. Drivers must take part in both races.

Race 1 will be on the 960m National track with a 10 minute qualifying session followed by a 20 minute race.

Then there will be a short break before race 2 on the 1200m International track, again with a 10 minute qualifying session and a 20 minute race.

Race times

14:45 – Arrival, Sign in, Suit up, Briefing
15:30 – Race 1 10 min Practice / Qualifying
15:45 – Race 1 Start. 20 min sprint from a grid start
16:05 – Short break
16:15 – Race 2 10 min Practice / Qualifying
16:30 – Race 2 Start. 20 min sprint from a grid start
16:55 – Trophies, Lap times

In total 1hr of track time.

The price is for both races.

Members price: £72.50 (payable through the members booking area)
Non member price: £80 (available to non members after March 19th)
